Using the Pomodoro Timer

Use the Pomodoro timer in the footer to structure study sessions with focused intervals and breaks.

Updated Aug 21, 2026

The Pomodoro timer is a website feature. It is not part of the CaseStacks mobile app.

The Pomodoro timer breaks study time into focused work intervals separated by short and long breaks. CaseStacks ships one in the footer so you can use it alongside any case, course, or tool on the site.

Quick Start

  1. Open the Pomodoro timer from the footer (timer icon on the bottom-right of the site)
  2. Click Start โ€” the timer begins a 25-minute work interval
  3. When the work interval ends, the timer auto-transitions to a 5-minute short break
  4. After 4 work intervals, the timer gives you a longer 15-minute break, then restarts the cycle

Controls

  • Start / Pause / Resume โ€” control the current phase
  • Reset โ€” return to the start of the current phase
  • Skip โ€” advance to the next phase

The timer continues running while you navigate between pages, and its state persists.

Settings

Click the gear icon on the timer to open settings:

Setting Default Range
Work duration 25 min 1โ€“60
Short break 5 min 1โ€“30
Long break 15 min 1โ€“60
Cycles before long break 4 1โ€“10
Auto-start next phase On On/Off

Settings save automatically and persist across sessions.

Tracking Your Sessions

Completed work intervals are logged to your activity feed. The Pomodoro panel also shows your recent session counts (today / this week / this month), so you can see how much focused time you've put in.
