AI Tools & Usage Limits

Overview of AI-powered tools, how to use them, and how usage limits work.

Updated Aug 21, 2026

Voxel AI

Voxel AI is an educational radiology tutor for direct questions and interactive practice. Access it from any case page via the Ask Voxel AI button. You can ask about imaging findings, differential diagnoses, anatomy, and case-specific questions. Voxel adapts to your training level and references the current case context when available.

Your conversations are saved so you can pick up where you left off.

Impression Generator

The Impression Generator creates professional radiology impressions from your findings. Enter your clinical findings and imaging observations, and it generates a structured impression. Useful for practice and learning report writing.

Differential Assistant

The Differential Assistant generates evidence-based differential diagnoses from imaging findings and clinical context. It may ask clarifying questions to refine results. Generated differentials can be saved for later reference.

Incidental Findings Guide

The Incidental Findings Guide provides guideline-based follow-up recommendations for incidental findings using published ACR and Fleischner guidance, organized by modality and body region. Standalone lookups count against your monthly usage allowance.

Assessment Grading

When you write reports in the call simulator or assessment sessions, AI grades your work against reference samples on a percentage scale covering diagnostic accuracy, finding identification, and report quality. See Assessments & Call Simulator for details.

Text-to-Speech

Case content can be read aloud using text-to-speech. Click the Read button on any case section, or use Read All to listen to everything in sequence. Adjust your voice and playback speed in the settings panel (gear icon in the footer) or in Account Settings.

Voice Dictation (Speech-to-Text)

In the Call Simulator, Assessments, and Notebook, you can dictate instead of typing. Click the microphone icon or press Alt+T to start dictation. Dictation has a monthly usage allowance measured in minutes.

Usage Limits

Each AI tool has a monthly usage allowance that resets on the 1st of each month. Your limits depend on your subscription:

  • Free โ€” Lower limits across all tools
  • PRO โ€” Significantly higher limits included with any PRO subscription

To see your current usage and remaining allowance, go to Account Settings and check the AI Usage tab. The tab includes generative tools plus Text-to-Speech usage; speech-to-text dictation is also limited monthly but may not appear as a separate meter.

When you reach your limit for a tool, you'll receive a message letting you know. Usage resets on the 1st of each month.

Disclaimers

All AI tools require accepting a disclaimer before first use. AI output may be inaccurate or misleading โ€” always verify before clinical use. Do not enter patient-identifiable information (names, MRNs, DOBs).
