Demographics: 9 years old, Male
Indication: Headache, vomiting

Findings

CT

  • Heterogeneous, intra-axial right frontal mass with internal areas of hyperattenuation likely representing intralesional hemorrhage
  • Surrounding edema and local mass effect with crowding of the frontal horn of the right lateral ventricle and right-to-left midline shift anteriorly

MRI

  • Heterogeneous, intra-axial right frontal mass measuring 5.5 x 5 x 4 cm
  • T1/T2 hyperintense ovoid component posteriorly which may relate to hemorrhage or proteinaceous contents
  • Associated linear and nodular areas of enhancement, particularly along the periphery of the mass and along internal septations
  • Irregular areas of internal restricted diffusion
  • Relatively small amount of surrounding parenchymal edema
  • Associated mass effect with local sulcal effacement, crowding of the frontal horn of the right lateral ventricle, and 7 mm right-to-left midline shift anteriorly
