DICOM HelpSource: Local (us-east1-c)
Findings
- Areas of high density within the temporal horns of the lateral ventricles bilaterally, which have attenuation values up to 150 Hounsfield units compatible with physiologic calcifications of the choroid plexus in these regions.
Diagnosis
Choroid Plexus in the Temporal Horn (Mimic)
Discussion
-
Usually choroid is easy to differentiate from hemorrhage given the characteristic location and physiologic calcification. Using bone windows and measuring point value attenuation may help you confidently identify calcification associated with choroid.
- Choroid plexus is also found in the foramina of Luschka, along the posterior medullary velum of the fourth ventricle, and along the roof of the third ventricle.
