Demographics: 11 years old, Female
Indication: Knee pain

Findings

  • No acute fracture or malalignment
  • No joint effusion
  • Cortical irregularity along the posterior margin of the distal femoral metaphysis
  • Lucent cortical lesion with a sclerotic rim in the medial aspect of the distal femoral metadiaphysis

Diagnosis

Cortical desmoid

Nonossifying fibroma (NOF)

Sample Report

No acute fracture or malalignment.

No joint effusion.

Cortical irregularity along the posterior margin of the distal femoral metaphysis, consistent with a cortical desmoid. Lucent cortical lesion with a sclerotic rim in the medial aspect of the distal femoral metadiaphysis, consistent with a nonossifying fibroma.
