Findings
- Acute oblique minimally displaced fracture of the lateral malleolus with medial extension to the level of the tibiotalar joint
- Linear band of sclerosis in the calcaneus
- Linear sclerotic band extending through the talar neck with possible minimal cortical offset along the inferior margin, only seen on the lateral view
Diagnosis
Calcaneal stress fracture
Weber type B ankle fracture
Possible talar neck stress fracture
Sample Report
Acute oblique minimally displaced fracture of the lateral malleolus with medial extension to the level of the tibiotalar joint (Weber B). Mild medial clear space widening raising concern for associated deltoid ligament injury.
Linear band of sclerosis in the calcaneus concerning for calcaneal stress fracture.
Linear sclerotic band extending through the talar neck with possible minimal cortical offset along the inferior margin (only seen on the lateral view), concerning for a talar neck stress fracture.
Joint spaces are maintained.
