Demographics: 48 years old, Male
Indication: Vomiting, no bowel movement for 3 days

Findings

  • Large volume pneumoperitoneum
  • Multiple dilated loops of small bowel measuring up to 6 cm in diameter and dilated loops of large bowel measuring up to 10 cm in diameter
  • Right lower quadrant surgical clips
  • Streaky bibasilar pulmonary opacities

Diagnosis

Pneumoperitoneum

Sample Report

Large volume pneumoperitoneum concerning for perforated hollow viscus. Recommend emergent surgical consultation.

Multiple dilated loops of small bowel and large bowel, which are nonspecific and could relate to obstruction or ileus.

Streaky bibasilar pulmonary opacities, which likely represent atelectasis. Recommend attention on follow-up radiographs.
