Demographics: 28 years old, Female
Indication: Right lower quadrant pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • Mild dependent atelectasis

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Dilated appendix with internal noncalcified appendicoliths, mural thickening/hyperenhancement involving the entire appendix and extending into the base of the cecum, and periappendiceal fat stranding
  • No loculated fluid collection or free air
  • Small volume free intraperitoneal fluid layering in the anatomic pelvis
  • Hepatomegaly
  • Subcentimeter hypoattenuating lesion in the interpolar left kidney, which is too small to characterize
  • Punctate nonobstructing left renal calculi

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diagnosis

Acute suppurative appendicitis

Sample Report

Acute appendicitis. No evidence of perforation or abscess. Inflammatory changes extend to involve the base of the cecum.

Nonobstructing left nephrolithiasis.
