Indication: Left flank pain

Case #53

Findings

Lower chest

  • Small hiatal hernia
  • Coronary artery calcification

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Mild left hydroureteronephrosis with diffuse left perinephric and periureteral stranding and a 4 mm calculus at the left ureterovesicular junction, which is poorly evaluated given extensive streak artifact from bilateral hip arthroplasties
  • Multiple bilateral nonobstructing renal calculi
  • Cholelithiasis
  • Colonic diverticulosis
  • Likely circumferential wall thickening of the urinary bladder
  • Prostatomegaly
  • Atherosclerotic calcification of the abdominal aorta and branch vessels without aneurysm
  • Retroaortic left renal vein

MSK

  • No acute findings
  • Partially imaged bilateral total hip arthroplasties

Diagnosis

Ureteral calculus

Sample Report

Mild left hydroureteronephrosis with a 4 mm calculus at the left ureterovesicular junction, which is poorly evaluated given extensive streak artifact from bilateral hip arthroplasties.

Left perinephric/periureteral stranding and bladder wall thickening, which may relate to the impacted calculus. However, recommend correlation with urinalysis for signs of urinary tract infection.

Additional nonobstructing bilateral renal calculi.

Cholelithiasis.
