Findings
CT
- Heterogeneous pineal region mass with peripherally-displaced calcification and predominantly peripheral hyperattenuation likely representing hemorrhage
- Associated obstructive hydrocephalus at the level of the cerebral aqueduct
MRI
- Heterogeneously enhancing pineal region mass measuring 4 x 3.4 x 3 cm
- Predominantly T1 hypointense and T2 hyperintense internal signal
- Corresponding predominantly peripheral susceptibility artifact likely relating to calcification and hemorrhage
- Associated downward mass effect on the tectum as well as on the third ventricle and right greater than left thalami with adjacent parenchymal edema in the right thalamus
- Associated obstructive hydrocephalus at the level of the cerebral aqueduct
