Indication: Left-sided weakness

Findings

  • Heterogeneously enhancing mass in the parasagittal high right frontal lobe measuring 5 x 3.8 x 4.5 cm
  • Predominantly hyperintense T2 signal with a T2 hypointense component anteriorly and corresponding calcification
  • No substantial corresponding restricted diffusion
  • Extensive surrounding vasogenic edema in the right frontal and parietal lobes
  • The mass contacts and may invade the superior sagittal sinus, which remains patent
  • Corresponding local mass effect with 6 mm right-to-left midline shift and downward displacement of the lateral ventricles and corpus callosum
  • No evidence of downward transtentorial herniation or hydrocephalus

Diagnosis

Solitary fibrous tumor (hemangiopericytoma)
