Findings

  • No acute fracture or alignment.  Corticated depression in bilateral occipital condyles, consistent with normal medial occipital condylar notches.

Discussion

  • The medial occipital condyle notch is a normal congenital variant, which could be mistaken for an impaction fracture.

    • It's prevalence is most common from 1 to 12 years of age and is uncommon in adolescents and adults.
