Google & Apple Sign-In, Smarter Grading & Polish
Sign in with Google or Apple, more accurate AI report grading, summaries and progress that count correctly in every language, a round of chat/Voxel bug fixes, clearer tax disclosure at checkout, referral link fixes, more reliable case-footer study tools, national performance benchmarks for program admins, and viewer/accessibility polish.
Program Admin Dashboard
- National Benchmark Comparisons โ See how your residents and fellows compare to the CaseStacks national average, based on call simulator grades. A "vs National" column shows each member's standing once they have enough graded reports, with a program-level summary and a per-member breakdown by modality and body region so you can spot the biggest gaps.
- Top Performers & Recent Activity Now Show Real Numbers โ The program dashboard counted completed cases using a field that has been empty since late 2025, so Top Performers showed zero cases completed for every resident and the Recent Activity feed came up blank. Both now report real figures. The progress breakdown also no longer drifts upward as your roster grows โ it now shows a true per-member average.
- Simpler Dashboard โ Trimmed the program dashboard down to what matters: clearer status badges, seat counts that match your actual paid limit, and sortable columns for name, users, subscription end date, and status.
Call Simulator & AI Grading
- More Accurate AI Grading โ AI grading of call simulator reports now credits anatomically equivalent terms (e.g. "basal ganglia" for a putaminal bleed) instead of marking them wrong, and no longer asserts a finding's location when the reference report doesn't support it.
- Impression Generator Fixes โ Measurements like "<5 mm" no longer get garbled in generated impressions, findings keep their line breaks, and custom instructions can now run up to 800 characters (up from 500).
Progress & Session Summaries
- Skipped Cases Now Appear on Your Summary โ Assessment summaries quietly left out cases you never attempted, so the list didn't match the session you'd just finished. Skipped cases now show up marked "Not completed" โ without revealing the diagnosis of a case you never opened.
- Accurate Session Stats โ Summaries no longer report a full session as "0 minutes, 1 case", and the call simulator no longer undercounts cases reviewed if you navigate back before ending a session.
- Grades Match Your Cases in Every Language โ If you study in a language other than English, call simulator grades could fail to line up with the case they belonged to โ showing as ungraded, and sometimes erroring when you clicked in. Class averages were split by language too. Both are fixed.
- Progress Counts Right Across Languages โ Cases completed on a translated version of the site now count once, and only once, toward your progress and badges. Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Korean dashboards also no longer show stale numbers after you finish a case.
- Summaries in Your Language โ The post-session summary page is now translated into all nine languages instead of always appearing in English.
Chat & Voxel
- Literature Citations Fixed โ Voxel's source citations could silently stop appearing partway through a conversation if it covered more than one imaging modality or body region; they now show up reliably.
- Clearer Errors & Upgrade Prompts โ Hitting your usage limit now shows the correct upgrade prompt again, a stuck "typing" indicator after reconnecting is fixed, and an expired session now shows a refresh prompt instead of a raw error.
Checkout
- Clearer Tax Disclosure โ International visitors now see an explicit "Tax โ calculated at next step" line and notice above the total, so sales tax/VAT no longer comes as a surprise on the payment page.
Referral Program
- Referral Link Fixes โ Referral codes now work even if a link arrives lowercased (common with some email clients and link shorteners), the tracking window was extended from 7 to 14 days, and an old shared "shuffle" link that used to dead-end on the homepage now goes straight to the Call Simulator.
DICOM Viewer
- Your Window/Level Stays Put โ Windowing a case the way you want it, then clicking through to an annotation, no longer resets it back to the default โ and neither does leaving fullscreen. The view still re-centers so the annotation lines up, but your window/level and inversion stay exactly as you set them.
- Navigation & Memory Reliability โ Fixed a rare case where navigating quickly between images could briefly show the wrong slice, and cleaned up lingering memory usage after viewing many cases back-to-back in one session.
- Measurements in Millimeters on X-Rays and Ultrasound โ The ruler now reports real-world millimeters on plain radiographs (X-rays) and on ultrasound, the same as it already did on CT and MRI, instead of falling back to raw pixels. This now works on multi-frame clips too, which the first round of the fix missed. Doppler traces and M-mode stay in pixels on purpose โ a distance measurement there wouldn't mean anything.
Focus & Study Tools
- Case Footer Tools Fixed โ The lofi music player, focus timer, and keyboard-shortcuts panel in the case footer now work reliably on every case page: the music player loads properly, the focus timer keeps accurate time even when your browser tab is in the background, and the shortcuts panel no longer gets stuck loading. Their labels are now translated across all nine languages, too.
- New Read Aloud Speeds โ Read Aloud narration now offers a wider range of playback speeds, from 0.5ร all the way up to 2.5ร, for whether you want to follow along slowly or power through a case.
Account & Login
- Sign In with Google or Apple โ You can now create an account or sign in using your Google or Apple account, on both web and mobile. If you already have a CaseStacks account under that email, it links automatically โ no need to remember a separate password.
- Existing Accounts Just Work โ Signed up a while ago, including through our WordPress migration? Signing in with Google or Apple picks up your existing account seamlessly, without needing to set a password first.
Mobile App
- Notes Search Now Finds Everything โ Searching your notes on mobile previously only searched the notes already loaded on screen; it now searches your full notes library.
Accessibility
- Keyboard Focus Stays in Dialogs โ Added focus-trapping to assessment, call simulator, quiz, and image-annotation dialogs, so keyboard navigation no longer escapes into the page behind them.
Fixes
- Case Star Ratings Save Again โ Rating a case from the feedback window failed with a "Failed to save rating" error and never recorded your rating. This had been broken for the better part of a year; ratings now save.
- Missing Icons Restored โ Icons across progress, badges, fellowships, the call simulator, your profile and Intro to Radiology were rendering as empty boxes. Nearly all are back. If you still see one, your browser may be holding an older cached copy for a little while.
- Refund Policy Documented โ The Subscriptions & Billing help article now spells out the refund policy โ the 3-day window, the 14-day EU right of withdrawal, and how institutional subscriptions are handled โ matching what's in the Terms of Service. The policy itself hasn't changed; it's just easier to find now.
- Mobile Star Ratings Preserved โ Rating a help article on mobile, then voting helpful/unhelpful on the same article from web, no longer clears your mobile star rating.
- Faster Case Galleries โ Case grid pages (fellowships, call prep, CT mimics, and Intro to Radiology) now load compact thumbnails instead of full-size images, so they open noticeably faster โ especially on mobile. This also restores the Intro to Radiology case cards, which were showing an "image unavailable" placeholder instead of the case image.
