  • Extensive fat stranding and edema involving the right hip, thigh, and knee with locules of gas tracking along deep fascial planes from the anterolateral knee proximally to the mid thigh
  • No acute fracture or malalignment

Diagnosis

Necrotizing fasciitis

Sample Report

Extensive fat stranding and edema involving the right hip, thigh, and knee with locules of gas tracking along deep fascial planes from the anterolateral knee proximally to the mid thigh. Findings are concerning for cellulitis and possible necrotizing fasciitis. Recommend surgical consultation. Limited evaluation of the right knee with effusion/septic arthritis not excluded.

No acute fracture or malalignment.
