Findings
- Sellar mass with suprasellar extension uplifting the optic chiasm, with the normal pituitary gland not identified separate from the mass
- Diffuse intrinsic T1 hyperintensity with a rim of susceptibility artifact
- Heterogeneous T2/FLAIR intensity with a fluid-fluid level
- Otherwise, no evidence of acute intracranial abnormality
Diagnosis
Pituitary apoplexy
Sample Report
T1 hyperintense sellar mass with suprasellar extension, most suggestive of hemorrhage into a preexisting pituitary adenoma. Recommend surgical evaluation.
Otherwise, no evidence of acute intracranial abnormality.
