Demographics: 91 years old, Male
Indication: Trauma

Findings

  • High attenuation prevertebral collection spanning C2-C6
  • No acute fracture or traumatic malalignment
  • Multilevel degenerative disease resulting in moderate to advanced canal stenosis at C2-C3 through C4-C5 as well as varying degrees of multilevel neural foraminal stenosis

Diagnosis

Prevertebral hematoma

Sample Report

High attenuation prevertebral collection spanning C2-C6 concerning for a prevertebral hematoma. While there is no CT evidence of acute fracture or traumatic malalignment, MRI of the cervical spine is recommended to exclude ligamentous injury given this finding.
