Findings
- Acute minimally displaced C4 fractures involving both laminae and the spinous process
- Acute mildly displaced avulsion fracture from the anterior inferior corner of the C3 vertebral body
- Anterior widening of the C3-C4 disc space
- Mild prevertebral edema
- Multilevel advanced cervical spondylosis with osseous fusion across the disc space and right facet joint at C4-C5
Diagnosis
Multiple acute minimally displaced cervical fractures, including a C3 extension teardrop fracture
Possible ligamentous injury at C3-C4
Sample Report
Acute minimally displaced C4 fractures involving both laminae and the spinous process.
Acute mildly displaced avulsion fracture from the anterior inferior corner of the C3 vertebral body (extension teardrop fracture).
Anterior widening of the C3-C4 disc space raises concern for ligamentous injury, which can be further assessed with MRI.
Mild prevertebral edema.
