Demographics: 42 years old, Male
Indication: Fever, lower extremity weakness

Findings

  • No acute intracranial hemorrhage, substantial intracranial mass effect, or hydrocephalus
  • Small area of hypoattenuation in the left subinsular white matter

Diagnosis

No acute intracranial abnormality

Sample Report

A small area of hypoattenuation in the left subinsular white matter likely represents a dilated perivascular space or chronic infarct. However, MRI brain with and without contrast should be considered for further evaluation if there is ongoing clinical concern for acute intracranial pathology.
