Findings
- Hypoattenuating lesion centered in the right frontal/anterior temporal lobe with extensive surrounding vasogenic edema
- Associated 10 mm right to left midline shift, right uncal herniation, and partial effacement of the right lateral ventricle
- Enlargement of the left lateral ventricle, particularly the temporal horn
Diagnosis
Brain tumor, herniation, ventricular entrapment
Sample Report
Hypoattenuating lesion centered in the right frontal/anterior temporal lobe with extensive surrounding vasogenic edema. The primary differential considerations are brain tumor (primary or metastatic) and brain abscess. Recommend brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.
Associated 10 mm right to left midline shift, right uncal herniation, and partial effacement of the right lateral ventricle. No cerebellar tonsillar herniation.
Entrapment of the left lateral ventricle with developing obstructive hydrocephalus.
