Diagnosis

Benign enlargement of the subarachnoid spaces of infancy (BESSI)

Sample Report

No acute intracranial abnormality.

Findings typical of benign enlargement of the subarachnoid spaces of infancy (BESSI), a self-limited condition that typically resolves by 18-24 months of age. If there is ongoing high clinical concern for intracranial infection, consider brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.
