Findings

Diagnosis

Acute demyelinating disease (ADEM)

Sample Report

Abnormal hypoattenuation within the subcortical white matter of the high right frontal and left parietal lobes with additional scattered small hypoattenuating white matter lesions. These findings are nonspecific but unexpected in a patient of this age. Brain MRI with and without contrast is recommended for further evaluation, particularly given reported weakness/numbness.
