Findings
- Peripherally-enhancing epidural collection along the inner table of the midline frontal calvarium with adjacent peripherally-enhancing subdural collections along the left greater than right frontal convexities
- Mass effect on the left frontal lobe parenchyma with partial effacement of the left lateral ventricle and approximately 3 mm left to right midline shift
- Total versus near total opacification of the maxillary sinuses, scattered ethmoid air cells, and the left frontal sinus
Diagnosis
Intracranial extension of sinusitis
Sample Report
Peripherally-enhancing epidural collection along the inner table of the midline frontal calvarium subjacent to opacified frontal sinuses with adjacent peripherally-enhancing subdural collections along the left greater than right frontal convexities. Findings are concerning for acute sinusitis complicated by intracranial extension with an epidural abscess and bilateral subdural empyemas. Recommend neurosurgery consultation.
Mass effect on the left frontal lobe parenchyma with mild narrowing of the left lateral ventricle and approximately 3 mm left to right midline shift.
