Demographics: 69 years old, Male
Indication: Acute headache

Findings

  • Acute subarachnoid hemorrhage predominately in the interpeduncular and ambient cisterns extending into the prepontine cistern
  • No supratentorial blood products
  • CTA and DSA are normal without evidence of aneurysm

Diagnosis

Perimesencephalic non-aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage

Sample Report

CT: Acute subarachnoid hemorrhage predominately in the interpeduncular and ambient cisterns extending into the prepontine cistern. No supratentorial blood products. No substantial mass effect or hydrocephalus.

CTA: No aneurysm identified; however consider catheter angiography for a more sensitive evaluation.
