Demographics: 64 years old, Male
Indication: Trauma

Findings

  • Acute Denis zone 3 right sacral fracture extending from S1-S4 and then obliquely crossing midline at S4 and continuing to the left aspect of S5
  • Acute fractures of the right pubic root, bilateral pubic bodies with comminution and symphyseal extension on the left, left superior pubic ramus, and bilateral inferior pubic rami
  • Inferior displacement of both medial obturator ring fragments by approximately 15 mm
  • Acute nondisplaced fracture of the left L5 transverse process
  • Left eccentric degenerative disc space narrowing at L4-L5

Diagnosis

Stable pelvic ring injury (LC I)

Sample Report

Acute pelvic ring injury (lateral compression type I / LC I):

Acute Denis zone 3 right sacral fracture extending from S1-S4 and then obliquely crossing midline at S4 and continuing to the left aspect of S5.

Acute bilateral obturator ring fractures with fractures of the right pubic root, bilateral pubic bodies with comminution and symphyseal extension on the left, left superior pubic ramus, and bilateral inferior pubic rami.

No diastasis of the pubic symphysis or sacroiliac joints.

Inferior displacement of both medial obturator ring fragments by approximately 15 mm.

Acute nondisplaced fracture of the left L5 transverse process.

Left eccentric degenerative disc space narrowing at L4-L5.
