Findings
- Acute comminuted fracture of the proximal ulnar diaphysis with a mildly displaced 1.7 cm butterfly fragment and one-half shaft width volar displacement and apex volar angulation of the distal fracture fragment
- Anterolateral dislocation of the radial head
- Soft tissue laceration overlying the proximal ulna with locules of subcutaneous gas
- Elbow joint effusion
Diagnosis
Monteggia fracture/dislocation
Sample Report
Monteggia fracture/dislocation with the following components: Acute comminuted fracture of the proximal ulnar diaphysis with a mildly displaced 1.7 cm butterfly fragment and one-half shaft width volar displacement and apex volar angulation of the distal fracture fragment.
Soft tissue laceration overlying the proximal ulna with locules of subcutaneous gas raises concern for open fracture.
Anterolateral dislocation of the radial head.
Ulnotrochlear alignment is maintained.
Elbow joint effusion.
