Findings

  • Nodular density projecting in the anterior mediastinum on the lateral projection without clear correlate on the frontal projection
  • Large lung volumes without focal airspace disease or edema
  • No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Diagnosis

Anterior mediastinal mass

Sample Report

Nodular density projecting in the anterior mediastinum on the lateral projection, concerning for an anterior mediastinal mass. Recommend chest CT for further evaluation.

Large lung volumes, which may relate to obstructive pulmonary disease.

No evidence of pneumonia.
