Findings

  • Endotracheal tube terminates at the level of the clavicular heads
  • Gastric suction catheter is positioned with tip and side-port projecting over the gastric antrum
  • Diffuse bilateral interstitial prominence with intermixed patchy airspace opacities
  • No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Inhalational injury

Sample Report

Diffuse bilateral interstitial prominence with intermixed patchy airspace opacities likely relate to pneumonitis given the reported history of chlorine inhalation. There may also be a component of pulmonary edema, though there are no pleural effusions.
