Findings

  • Moderately enlarged cardiopericardial silhouette with a globular, "water-bottle" configuration
  • No focal airspace disease or edema
  • Small right pleural effusion
  • Surgical changes of prior CABG and aortic valve replacement
  • Possibly acute, mildly displaced fracture of the left lateral third rib

Diagnosis

Pericardial effusion

Sample Report

Moderately enlarged cardiopericardial silhouette with a globular configuration, most suggestive of the presence of a pericardial effusion. Consider echocardiography for further evaluation.

Small right pleural effusion.

Possibly acute, mildly displaced fracture of the left lateral third rib.
