Cough
Findings
- Increased soft tissue density in the superior mediastinum with loss of the retrosternal clear space on the lateral projection and an abnormal convex contour of the upper right mediastinal margin on the PA projection
- No focal airspace disease or edema
- No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
- Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette
- Surgical clips overlie the thoracic inlet
Diagnosis
Anterior mediastinal mass (retrosternal thyroid mass)
Sample Report
Findings raise concern for an anterior mediastinal mass. Recommend chest CT for further evaluation.
Otherwise, no evidence of acute cardiopulmonary disease.
