Demographics: 87 years old, Male
Indication: Chest pain

Findings

  • Diffuse interstitial and alveolar opacities throughout both lungs
  • No pleural effusion or pneumothorax
  • Cardiopericardial silhouette is partially obscured by adjacent pulmonary opacities
  • Endotracheal tube tip projects 5 cm above the carina
  • Defibrillation pads overlie the lower chest
  • Gaseous distension of the stomach

Diagnosis

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)

Sample Report

Diffuse interstitial and alveolar opacities throughout both lungs may represent ARDS, multifocal pneumonia, or severe pulmonary edema.

Incompletely imaged gaseous distension of the stomach. Consider NG/OG tube decompression.
