Indication: Right lower quadrant pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • Mild dependent atelectasis

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Colonic diverticulosis with mural thickening and hyperenhancement of a diverticulum arising from the proximal ascending colon with surrounding fat stranding
  • Small volume free intraperitoneal fluid in the right paracolic gutter tracking into the anatomic pelvis without loculated collection or free air
  • Normal appendix
  • Retroverted uterus

MSK

  • No acute osseous findings
  • Subcutaneous nodularity and gas in the bilateral lateral flank soft tissues, likely relating to medication injection sites

Diagnosis

Diverticulitis

Sample Report

Acute uncomplicated diverticulitis involving the proximal ascending colon. No evidence of abscess or perforation.

Normal appendix.
