Demographics: 54 years old, Female
Indication: Left lower quadrant pain

Findings

Lower chest

  • Mild dependent atelectasis
  • 5 mm nodule in the right middle lobe, which does not meet size criteria for imaging follow-up per Fleischner 2017 guidelines

Abdomen/Pelvis

  • Short segment sigmoid colon mural thickening and surrounding fat stranding in an area of multiple diverticula with mural thickening and hyperenhancement of a ventrally directed diverticulum
  • Cholelithiasis without gallbladder distension, wall thickening, pericholecystic inflammatory changes, or biliary duct dilation
  • Appendix is mildly distended with fecal contents without wall thickening or periappendiceal inflammatory changes
  • Replaced common hepatic artery from the SMA

MSK

  • No acute findings

Diverticulitis
