Demographics: 15 months old, Female
Indication: Left greater than right sensorineural hearing loss

Case #10

Findings

  • LEFT
    • Mild soft tissue narrowing of the cartilaginous external auditory canal
    • Trace soft tissue or fluid at the stapes footplate
    • Abnormal down-sloping course of the tympanic segment of the facial nerve with abnormally anterior course of the mastoid segment
    • Common vestibulocochlear cavity with dysmorphic semicircular canals and no discernible internal cochlear architecture
  • RIGHT
    • Mild soft tissue narrowing of the cartilaginous external auditory canal
    • Mildly dysplastic appearance of the stapes
    • Abnormal down-sloping course of the tympanic segment of the facial nerve
    • Hypoplastic cochlea with normal basal turn but hypoplastic middle and apical turns
    • Mildly dilated vestibule with well-formed and covered semicircular canals
