Demographics: 7 years old, Female
Indication: Knee injury

Findings

  • Lateral position of the patella on the frontal view
  • Small joint effusion
  • Soft tissue swelling overlying the patella
  • Approximately 1 cm cortical-based lucent lesion with sclerotic margins along the posterior aspect of the medial femoral condyle

Diagnosis

Lateral patellar dislocation

Non-ossifying fibroma

Sample Report

No acute fracture.

Lateral position of the patella on the frontal view, concerning for patellar dislocation, with overlying soft tissue swelling. A sunrise view would provide more definitive evaluation for dislocation.

Small joint effusion.

Approximately 1 cm cortical-based lucent lesion with sclerotic margins along the posterior aspect of the medial femoral condyle consistent with a non-ossifying fibroma (a benign lesion).
