Findings

  • Diffuse opacification throughout the left lower lobe and to a lesser extent in the lingula
  • Moderate-sized left pleural effusion
  • Normal size and configuration of the cardiopericardial silhouette

Diagnosis

Pneumonia

Sample Report

Findings consistent with pneumonia in the left lower lobe and lingula with a moderate-sized left pleural effusion. Consider chest ultrasound to assess for evidence of empyema.
