Findings
- No radiopaque foreign body
- Marked distension of the stomach with air-fluid level on upright projection
- Otherwise nonobstructive bowel gas pattern with a large rectal stool burden
- No evidence of free intraperitoneal air
- No abnormal intraabdominal mass effect or calcification
Diagnosis
Ingested radiolucent foreign body
Sample Report
No radiopaque foreign body. However, marked distension of the stomach with air-fluid level on upright projection raises concern for an obstructing radiolucent foreign body (such as a Lego piece).
Otherwise nonobstructive bowel gas pattern with a large rectal stool burden.
No evidence of free intraperitoneal air.
No abnormal intraabdominal mass effect or calcification.
