Demographics: 71 years old, Female
Indication: Temporary vision loss

Findings

  • No evidence of acute infarct, hemorrhage, mass effect, or hydrocephalus
  • Mild generalized cerebral volume loss
  • Extensive mucosal thickening of the left maxillary sinus with internal fluid signal and a rounded area of T2 signal hypointensity in the dependent aspect
  • 1.6 x 1.3 cm T2 hyperintense structure in the superficial lobe of the right parotid gland

Diagnosis

Incidental parotid lesion

Sample Report

No evidence of acute intracranial abnormality.

Left maxillary sinusitis. Small area of dependent T2 signal hypointensity in the left maxillary sinus could represent blood products or fungal colonization. No findings to suggest invasive sinusitis.

1.6 x 1.3 cm T2 hyperintense structure in the superficial lobe of the right parotid gland, which may represent a lymph node conglomerate versus parotid neoplasm. Recommend outpatient ENT referral for further workup.
