Findings
- Subcentimeter areas of T1/T2 hyperintensity and corresponding susceptibility artifact in the left cerebellar hemisphere and posterior aspect of the left cingulate gyrus with mild surrounding vasogenic edema and minimal local mass effect
- Numerous additional areas of supratentorial and infratentorial parenchymal and subarachnoid susceptibility artifact
- Patchy subcortical and periventricular white matter T2/FLAIR hyperintensities
Diagnosis
Cerebral amyloid angiopathy
Sample Report
Small subacute parenchymal hematomas in the left cerebellar hemisphere and posterior aspect of the left cingulate gyrus with mild surrounding vasogenic edema and minimal local mass effect. Background of numerous areas of parenchymal and subarachnoid hemosiderin staining. These findings, in consideration of patient age, most likely represent cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
Sequelae of chronic small vessel disease.
