Findings
- Acute mixed transverse/longitudinal otic capsule sparing left temporal bone fracture with fracture components extending anteriorly into the temporomandibular joint and superiorly into the lambdoid suture
- Disruption of the left malleoincudal joint
- Trace pneumocephalus in the left aspects of the middle and posterior cranial fossae
- Thin subdural and or subarachnoid hemorrhage along the left frontotemporal convexity with a likely tiny intraparenchymal hematoma in the posterior left temporal lobe
- Partial opacification of the left external auditory canal, middle ear, and mastoid air cells
- Left scalp hematoma with subcutaneous emphysema
Diagnosis
Temporal bone fracture with ossicular disruption
Sample Report
Acute mixed transverse/longitudinal otic capsule sparing left temporal bone fracture with fracture components extending anteriorly into the temporomandibular joint and superiorly into the lambdoid suture. Associated disruption of the left malleoincudal joint. The left TMJ is located. No sutural diastasis.
Trace pneumocephalus in the left aspects of the middle and posterior cranial fossae. Thin subdural and or subarachnoid hemorrhage measuring up to x mm in thickness along the left frontotemporal convexity with a likely tiny intraparenchymal hematoma in the posterior left temporal lobe. No associated mass effect. No evidence of acute large vascular territory ischemia or hydrocephalus.
Partial opacification of the left external auditory canal, middle ear, and mastoid air cells.
Left scalp hematoma with subcutaneous emphysema.
