Findings
- Diffuse hypoattenuation of the cerebrum and cerebellum with loss of gray-white differentiation and complete effacement of extra-axial CSF spaces with transtentorial and cerebellar tonsillar herniation
- Acute subdural hematomas layering along the bilateral cerebral convexities and interhemispheric falx
- Acute hemorrhage layering dependently within the vitreous chamber of the right globe
Diagnosis
Nonaccidental trauma with diffuse cerebral edema, herniation, and retinal hemorrhage
Sample Report
Diffuse hypoattenuation of the cerebrum and cerebellum with loss of gray-white differentiation, compatible with profound hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy. Associated complete effacement of extra-axial CSF spaces with transtentorial and cerebellar tonsillar herniation.
Acute subdural hematomas measuring up to 5 mm in thickness layering along the bilateral cerebral convexities and interhemispheric falx. No calvarial fracture.
Acute hemorrhage layering dependently within the vitreous chamber of the right globe measuring 4 mm in thickness.
