Findings

Diagnosis

Basilar artery tip thrombosis

Sample Report

Hypoattenuation with loss of gray-white differentiation in the left greater than right occipital lobes and in the left thalamus, concerning for acute/early subacute infarcts. Consider MRI for further evaluation.

Hyperattenuating, expanded tip of the basilar artery raises concern for basilar artery thrombus. Consider CTA for further evaluation.

No acute hemorrhage, mass effect, or hydrocephalus.

Global cerebral atrophy. Sequelae of chronic microvascular ischemic disease. Calcified intracranial atherosclerosis.
