Demographics: 24 years old, Female
Indication: Altered mental status

Findings

  • Hyperattenuating appearance of the superior sagittal sinus, straight sinus, bilateral tentorial and cortical veins, both transverse sinuses, and the confluence of sinuses
  • No evidence of acute large vascular territory infarct, acute intracranial hemorrhage, substantial intracranial mass effect, or hydrocephalus

Diagnosis

Dural venous sinus thrombosis

Sample Report

Findings concerning for thrombosis of the superior sagittal sinus, straight sinus, bilateral tentorial and cortical veins, both transverse sinuses, and the confluence of sinuses. Recommend brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.

No evidence of large vascular territory infarct, hemorrhage, mass effect, or hydrocephalus.
