Findings

Diagnosis

Cavernous malformation (aka cavernoma)

Sample Report

Ovoid hyperattenuation in the central pons, which could represent mineralization versus small volume blood products.  Differential considerations include hypertensive hemorrhage, capillary telangiectasia, and hemorrhagic metastasis. Recommend brain MRI with and without contrast for further evaluation.

No associated mass effect.

No acute large vascular territory infarct or hydrocephalus.
