Demographics: 60 years old, Male
Indication: Respiratory distress

Findings

  • Extensive infiltrative transspatial fluid throughout the deep space of the neck without abscess
  • Partially imaged endotracheal tube
  • Fluid layering in the pharynx
  • Trace subcutaneous emphysema ventral to the larynx

Diagnosis

Angioedema

Sample Report

Extensive transspatial edema through the deep spaces of the neck which may represent angioedema or extensive deep neck cellulitis. No abscess or venous thrombosis.

Partially imaged endotracheal tube with fluid layering in the pharynx likely related to intubated status.

Small amount of soft tissue emphysema ventral to the larynx, which may be posttraumatic.
