Demographics: 65 years old, Female
Indication: Face swelling

Findings

  • Periapical lucency of the left second maxillary premolar with buccal surface cortical dehiscence and overlying peripherally enhancing collection
  • Multiple enlarged cervical lymph nodes
  • Prior extraction of the left second and third maxillary molars
  • Left infraorbital soft tissue edema without evidence of postseptal extension

Diagnosis

Odontogenic subperiosteal abscess

Sample Report

Periapical lucency of the left second maxillary premolar with buccal surface cortical dehiscence and overlying peripherally enhancing collection measuring 2 x 0.8 x 2.5 cm consistent with subperiosteal abscess.

Left infraorbital soft tissue edema compatible with cellulitis without evidence of postseptal extension.

Reactive cervical lymphadenopathy. No evidence of venous thrombosis.
