Findings

Diagnosis

Unstable pelvic ring injury (LC III)

Sample Report

Acute, open, unstable pelvic ring injuries (lateral compression type III / LC III) and central left hip dislocation, as discussed below:

Acute left obturator ring fractures including a laterally displaced fracture of the left inferior pubic ramus and fractures of the pubic body and superior pubic ramus.

Slight counterclockwise rotation of the left hemipelvis and widening of the left sacroiliac joint.

Left superior pubic ramus fracture extends into the pubic symphysis without symphyseal diastasis. 

Mildly displaced tiny marginal avulsion fracture of the superior ilium at the sacroiliac joint.

Disruption of the left second sacral arch indicating an acute Denis zone 2 fracture.

Acute traumatic central left hip dislocation with the left femoral head dislocated into the anatomic pelvis.

Acute minimally displaced transverse fracture of the right acetabulum.

Acute nondisplaced fracture of the right inferior pubic ramus.

Large wound in the left groin with subcutaneous gas in the left thigh.
