Atypical femoral fracture (Insufficiency fracture of the lateral subtrochanteric left femur)

Sample Report

Focal cortical thickening along the lateral aspect of the subtrochanteric left femur, consistent with atypical femoral fracture which can be seen with chronic bisphosphonate use.

No joint malalignment.

Left total knee arthroplasty without osteolysis or other complicating feature. Mild degenerative changes of the left hip.

Multiple mineralized densities posterior to the knee with the largest measuring 7 x 6 mm, likely within a Baker's cyst.

Geographic sclerosis in the distal femoral diaphysis, which likely represents a prior bone infarct.
