Demographics: 72 years old, Female
Indication: Fall

Findings

  • Acute, nondisplaced periprosthetic distal femoral fracture
  • Moderate lipohemarthrosis
  • Soft tissue edema about the knee
  • Lateral unicompartmental arthroplasty with intact hardware but lucency about the femoral hardware component
  • Moderate medial and patellofemoral compartment degenerative changes

Diagnosis

Periprosthetic fracture of the distal femur

Sample Report

Acute, nondisplaced periprosthetic distal femoral fracture.

Lucency about the femoral component of lateral unicompartmental arthroplasty suggests osteolysis and may have predisposed to fracture.

Moderate lipohemarthrosis.

Soft tissue edema about the knee.

Moderate medial and patellofemoral compartment degenerative changes.
