Demographics: 67 years old, Male
Indication: Bicycle accident

Findings

  • Acute, open, comminuted, impacted supracondylar left humeral fracture with intercondylar extension and 2 cm medial displacement of the medial condylar fragment
  • The ulna is medially translated, remaining associated with the trochlea
  • Comminution and rotation of the capitellar fragment, with maintained radiocapitellar alignment
  • Elbow joint effusion
  • Subcutaneous emphysema overlying the distal humerus
  • Vascular calcifications

Diagnosis

Distal humeral fracture

Sample Report

Acute, open, comminuted, impacted supracondylar left humeral fracture with intercondylar extension and 2 cm medial displacement of the medial condylar fragment. The ulna is medially translated, remaining associated with the trochlea. Comminution and rotation of the capitellar fragment, with maintained radiocapitellar alignment. Consider CT for further evaluation.

Elbow joint effusion.
