Demographics: 57 years old, Female
Indication: Fall

Findings

  • Acute mildly displaced oblique distal fibular fracture with medial fracture extension to the level of the tibiotalar joint
  • Mild medial clear space widening, which is accentuated on gravity stress view
  • Soft tissue swelling overlying the lateral malleolus
  • Mild degenerative changes throughout the midfoot

Diagnosis

Weber type B ankle fracture

Sample Report

Acute mildly displaced oblique distal fibular fracture with medial fracture extension to the level of the tibiotalar joint (Weber B). Overlying soft tissue swelling.

Mild medial clear space widening, which is accentuated on gravity stress view, suggesting associated deltoid ligament injury.

No widening of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis on stress view.

Mild degenerative changes throughout the midfoot.
